How do I begin and what to do after that?

Getting started on your golf fitness journey with Hit It Great.

Make A Plan

First, set a realistic goal that fits your goals and lifestyle. For most golfers, training 3 times each week is ideal to improve flexibility and strength, add speed and distance, and increase energy levels during practice and play.

Choose Your Format

Workouts are designed for self-directed sessions at home or in the gym. Each workout provides a list of the exercises, step-by-step instructions, and a video to clearly demonstrate proper execution of the exercise. This format allow you to complete as many reps and sets as you prefer.

For moderate fitness levels, we suggest Dynamic Warmup, The Front 9 and The Back 9 to get started.

Classes are built to follow along from beginning to end. Simply start the video and let our coaching staff guide you through the session. If you prefer this format, here are a couple of good places to start.

For moderate fitness levels, we suggest Coach Noss's Upper Body Bias and his Lower Body Bias.

Programs are a collection of workouts and/or classes designed to support a particular goal over multiple weeks. Programs take the guesswork out of your week by prompting the next pre-selected session in the program. For moderate fitness levels, we suggest starting with The Big 18.

Do The Work

Over the next few months you will be building a strong, golf-specific foundation for ongoing development. We have, and will continue to add, a variety of work to our platform. Many of the sessions will be focused on helping to improve specific parts of your body, or benefit specific areas of your game.

Custom Training Program Designed for You

To get the most benefit from your training time, consider a virtual online assessment and custom-designed training program specifically for your unique body and swing. What fitness equipment do I need?

We do have a few workouts that require no equipment at all. They're a great way to get started today while you acquire a few must have pieces of equipment to get the most out of your subscription:

Bi-Lateral Resistance Bands

65cm Stability Ball

Lite Dumbbells (2-5 lbs)

Over time you will likely want to add:

Balance Pads

Weighted Bar

Medicine Ball (4-6 lbs is plenty for our work)

Small Loop Band

Heavier Dumbbells (10-15 lbs)

How many times a week should I train?

Every body is different, so the real answer is up to you.

Regardless of the workout series, we typically recommend training 3x per week. That's average for most players. More experienced athletes like to train up to six times a week. The main thing about workout frequency is to make sure you're providing yourself with enough recovery time between workouts.
